SMS alert dispatch process

1

Industrial data collection

Sensors and PLCs transmit data to the Teltonika modem via Modbus TCP, MQTT or OPC UA in real time.

2

Condition evaluation

The modem or Grafana analyzes incoming values. If a threshold is exceeded (e.g. temperature > 80°C), the alert fires immediately.

3

Sending SMS to responsible staff

An SMS containing incident details (measured value, equipment, timestamp) is sent to designated technicians.

4

Archiving into InfluxDB

All data and events are stored in InfluxDB for later analysis and visualization in Grafana.

System advantages

FeatureBenefit
FlexibilityAdapts to all industrial protocols and existing equipment.
ReliabilityIndustrial Teltonika modems — stable connection even in harsh conditions.
Open SourceInfluxDB + Grafana — no proprietary license, free evolution.
Remote managementSupervision and reconfiguration via Teltonika RMS from anywhere.
ScalabilityAdd new sensors and sites without redesigning the architecture.
Cost-efficiencyLightweight self-hosted infrastructure — no proprietary annual license.

Application examples

Scenario 1

Industrial temperature monitoring

A sensor detects an abnormally high temperature.

  • Data sent to the modem via Modbus TCP
  • SMS sent to the manager with incident details
  • Data stored in InfluxDB and visualized in Grafana
Scenario 2

Power failure handling

A power failure occurs in the plant.

  • The system detects the failure and sends a signal to the modem
  • SMS sent to on-call technicians
  • Incident logged for analysis and post-mortem report

Services offered

Teltonika configuration

Full installation and setup of modems for SMS/Email alert dispatch.

SCADA integration

Connection to existing supervision systems for automatic triggering.

Linux Debian server

Ch. 04 / Security

NetBird — Zero Trust VPN

Modern alternative to legacy VPNs. Token-based individual access, end-to-end encryption via WireGuard®, no ports opened on the client firewall.

Open-source Zero Trust platform built on WireGuard® — end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer connections, no port opening or complex firewall configuration.

NetBird architecture — every P2P connection is end-to-end encrypted via WireGuard, with no ports opened on the client firewall
Zero Trust

Perimeterless security

Every connection is authenticated and encrypted. Granular per-user access, revocable at any time from the dashboard.

P2P WireGuard

High-performance direct connection

Direct traffic between devices without a central server. Minimal latency — ideal for Modbus, S7, OPC UA in production.

Individual token

Per-user controlled access

Every automation engineer has a personal token. Access limited to authorized internal networks — traceable and revocable.

Cross-platform

Windows, Linux, mobile

NetBird agent on Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android. Fast deployment on engineers' machines.

Unified dashboard

Centralized management

Access supervision, user and security policy management from an intuitive web interface.

Open Source

Self-hosted infrastructure

Self-hosted VM (Hetzner / OVH / Mikrotik) with traffic capacity more than sufficient for industrial use. No proprietary vendor lock-in.

This system replaces native PcVue alerting with a modern Zero Trust infrastructure — compatible with all existing SCADA projects, regardless of protocol (S7, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT).
